The city was first built by the Spanish who ruled northern Taiwan in 1628💪🏽
The "City of Santo Domingo" was built.
But then the city of Santo Domingo was destroyed,
In 1644, the Dutch rebuilt it near the original site of Santo Domingo.
And named it "Fort Anthony".
Since the Han people at that time called the Dutch red-haired,
Therefore, they called this city "Fort Red".
