Tada Eikichi Residence: A Little Japan in Tamsui

Take a bus from Tamsui MRT Station, passing through a small neighborhood, and you'll come across a traditional residence with red tiles and wooden pillars. This is the **Tada Eikichi Residence (多田榮吉故居)**.

Built in 1937, this wooden structure was once the home of Tada Eikichi, a Japanese businessman and the mayor of Tamsui. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a Japanese-style garden and a serene wooden floor. After changing into indoor slippers placed on the floor, you can quietly walk through the tatami rooms. Through the windows, you'll see picturesque views—lifting your gaze, you'll find the Tamsui River and the distant Guanyin Mountain, creating an atmosphere of utmost tranquility.
