Tada Eikichi Residence | A Japanese-style historic house in Tamsui

The Tada Eikichi Residence is located on Mackay Street in Tamsui, New Taipei City. This house is constructed with Japanese red cypress wood, featuring a black tile roof, rainboard exterior walls, tatami mats, and sliding doors, all of which perfectly showcase the architectural style of the Showa era.

Situated on the mid-slope of Puding Mountain, the residence faces the Tamsui River and Guanyin Mountain, offering expansive views and picturesque scenery throughout the year. After restoration, the site not only preserves the charm of the historic house but also provides visitors with a tranquil space for leisurely walks.

Designated as a municipal historic site in New Taipei City, the Tada Eikichi Residence has become one of Tamsui's significant cultural landmarks. Strolling through the residence allows visitors to experience the elegance of a Japanese-style home while reflecting on Tamsui's historical memories during the Japanese colonial period.
