Nice in the South of France was a city that gave me a happy trip even without a grand plan. Even without a camera, all the scenery was captured in my mind, and even without a set schedule, if I just walked wherever my feet took me, the place became a famous place.
I left my accommodation and started walking along the Promenade des Anglais. The sparkling Mediterranean Sea, the unique blue beach chairs, and even the yachts in the distance… I didn’t know that walking alongside the sea could be so special. I envied the leisurely pace of people sitting with their backs to the sea and resting.
In the old town, the hundreds of years old buildings and pastel-colored walls felt warmer in the sunlight. The flower market, cheese shop, and ice cream shop spread out between the narrow alleys were too precious to just pass by. As I walked, I thought that just being ‘here now’ was enough.
The stairs leading up to Colin du Chateau were a little out of breath, but the view I saw at the top made me forget all my fatigue. The red roofs of Nice, the blue sea, and the sunlight falling on them were perfect.
This city is a trip even if you don't do anything. That's the real charm of Nice.
