The Joetsu Shinkansen uses JR East's E2, E4, and E7 series trains. 🚅
The photo shows the E2 series "Toki" bound for Tokyo, photographed at Niigata Station. ♪
The Joetsu Shinkansen connects Niigata and Tokyo in roughly two hours, but some trains only stop at Omiya Station, making the journey as fast as an hour and a half...! 😮
Recently, the E7 series, originally used on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, has also been used on the Joetsu Shinkansen.
And the E4 series (nicknamed "Max"), Japan's only double-decker Shinkansen, will retire after a long career in October of this year.
