As I nervously walked down the aisle of a Chinese passenger plane, which is very harsh towards Japan, a flight attendant said something to me with a straight face. I froze, thinking I was being warned.
"Don't worry," a woman walking behind me called out, and I started walking again.
The in-flight meal was handed out. The woman next to me told me I could choose between "beef and pork."
Both of them were Chinese people living in Japan. I felt the kindness of Chinese people when they spoke to me in Japanese.
And then,
we landed at Hassan Airport in China. I was relieved to see the flight attendant off with a smile, and my tension eased.
