The top fashion brand Louis Vuitton (LV) has created its largest flagship store in the world in Osaka, Japan, a pinnacle of the fusion between fashion and architecture.
The exterior of this flagship store was designed by master architect Jun Aoki, while the interior design was crafted by New York design giant Peter Marino. The design inspiration comes from a sailboat, cleverly echoing Osaka's long-standing tradition as an important port in Japan. Jun Aoki's white building is transparent and bright, inspired by the ancient Hinoki wooden sailboats that once transported goods between Osaka and Tokyo (formerly Edo). The metal lattice patterns on the building's ground floor add a sense of purity to the facade, as if the boat is gently floating on the water.
Inside the store, Peter Marino continues the sailboat theme. The flour-colored floor resembles a deck, wooden pillars paired with a metal ceiling exude the atmosphere of a large yacht setting out on an adventure. At the same time, traditional Japanese wooden crafts, origami, and paper elements are cleverly incorporated throughout the space, filling every hall and corner with a unique charm.
Additionally, this location houses LV's first café and restaurant — le café V and sugalabo V. The cocktail bar at le café V is located on the top floor, with a terrace adjacent to the distinctive "cocoon"-shaped bar, making it a must-visit spot for fashion enthusiasts. #OsakaShoppingGuide
