Cherry Blossom Dreams in Otaru, Hokkaido

Temiya Park in Otaru has to be one of the most beautiful cherry blossom spots in all of Hokkaido right now — a hidden gem bursting into full bloom.

As I walked into the park, I was instantly greeted by an overwhelming sea of delicate pink petals, swaying gently against the backdrop of the vast, endless ocean. The combination of the cherry blossoms and the ocean view was nothing short of surreal — like stepping into a watercolor painting or a scene from a dream.

I was so enchanted that I ended up coming here twice in two days. I just couldn’t get enough of the calm, the colors, and the soft breeze carrying petals like snowflakes.

And then, as if the moment wasn’t magical enough — I witnessed a proposal under one of the seaside cherry trees. It was quiet and intimate, just the two of them and the trees in bloom. I snapped a photo for them, and later sent it to the couple — a memory they’ll hopefully treasure forever.

Truly, it was one of those rare, fleeting days that feel like a scene from a movie. I left with a full heart, completely at peace, and grateful to have experienced something so serene and beautiful.
