The first place I ever set foot in Japan: Otaru, Hokkaido.
From Sapporo, we took a bus to Otaru, which took about an hour.
💰 Average cost: 730 yen per person.
We got off at the "Shiyakusho-dori Station" in Otaru and walked a few minutes to our hotel. After checking in, we started exploring the nearby attractions, all within walking distance.
Walking along "Chugin-dori," you'll come across many unique buildings, such as:
👉 The Former Otaru Branch of the Bank of Japan, banks, post offices, and art museums.
Continuing straight ahead, you'll find:
👉 Denuki Koji, Otaru Canal Walk, Otaru Ekimae Plaza, Otaru Warehouse District, Kitaichi Glass Museum, and LeTAO Dessert Shop.
Afterward, head uphill along "Chuo-dori" 🚶🚶
👉 Don't miss visiting "Sankaku Market" and "Otaru JR Station" for some great photo opportunities!
All the attractions are within walking distance, and you can enjoy delicious food along the way. After a day of exploring and eating, head back to the hotel to relax in the hot springs. 👍 Enjoy!
