If you’re in SS2 late at night and craving something comforting, Ming Kee Porridge is an absolute gem that stays open into the wee hours. We dropped by around 11:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised to find the place still bustling and welcoming.
Though it was late, we were lucky to still catch some of their char siew, which looked irresistibly glossy and caramelized in the display. One thing that immediately caught our eye was a roast duck with a rich, dark hue—turns out it’s their signature Black Truffle Roast Duck! Unfortunately, it’s only available in half or whole portions, so we had to pass this time. But it’s now firmly on our must-try list.
We settled on their old-school wanton mee, and wow—what a brilliant decision.
🍜 What We Loved:
• Noodles: Cooked to perfect al dente texture with a flavorful dark soy sauce base.
• Char Siew: Easily one of the best in KL. Juicy, with perfectly charred edges, balanced fat-to-lean ratio, and a melt-in-the-mouth finish.
• Wantons: Fat and generously filled with minced meat and prawns, making each bite satisfyingly rich.
While we didn’t try the porridge this time, it’s clearly a local favorite—we saw many tables digging into bowls of it, and we’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Final Verdict
Ming Kee Porridge serves up some of the best late-night comfort food in SS2—with unbeatable char siew and nostalgic wanton mee. Friendly vibes, honest flavors, and hearty portions. Highly recommended!
