Wat Mae Nang Pluem is one of the most complete ancient sites in Ayutthaya. It was built to dedicate to Mae Nang Pluem, a loyal villager. The architecture of the temple is still intact. The Phra Luang Pho Khao Shrine and the main pagoda, surrounded by 36 stucco lions, are important highlights that reflect the art and beauty of the ancient era.
Highlights of the place:
- Phra Luang Pho Khao: A sacred white Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude
- Phra Luang Pho Pluem with a lion base: One of the most beautiful Sri Lankan pagodas in Ayutthaya
Opening hours: Open daily from 08.00 - 17.00 hrs.
Admission fee: Free
How to get there:
- Private car: Take Asia Road, head to Ayutthaya city, and follow the signs to Wat Mae Nang Pluem.
- Bus: Take a van from Bangkok to Ayutthaya Bus Station, then take a taxi to the temple.
Wat Mae Nang Pluem is not only a cultural tourist attraction, but also a place that reflects loyalty and warm relationships in Thai history.
