The Prince of Phrae's Palace

Khum Chao Luang Muang Phrae is a historical building built in 1892 by Chao Piriya Thep Wong, the last ruler of Phrae. It stands out with its Thai-European “gingerbread” architecture, with 72 windows and doors, and beautiful woodcarving patterns throughout the building. It is currently open as the Phrae Museum, with free admission. Inside, antique items, reception rooms, and a cell under the house that was once used to hold prisoners.
