Khum Chao Luang in Phrae is a city-center museum open to the public free of charge. Visitors can explore the museum freely or join guided tours provided by staff who share knowledge about Khum Chao Luang and the history of Phrae province. The site is a well-preserved building over 100 years old. Visitors are required to remove their shoes before entering. Photography and video recording are allowed throughout the premises. The museum features ancient artifacts displayed across two floors. A highlight shared by the staff is the 72 aligned doors and windows designed to allow continuous airflow, countering the belief that aligned doors and windows bring bad luck by incorporating ironwork depicting the deity Thao Wessuwan at the front hall on the second floor. Another must-see is the intricate wooden carvings adorning the building.
