Promthep Cape, Phuket Province

Promthep Cape is one of the most beautiful sunset viewing points in Phuket. It is located in the south of Phuket Island, about 2 kilometers from Rawai Beach. It is also a reference point for the sunset time in Thailand. There is a concrete edge at Promthep Cape where you can sit and watch the sunset. If you want to explore Promthep Cape, you can walk to the tip of the cape. There is a walkway down to the bottom. When you go down, you will see the emerald green sea. When the waves hit the rocks, the foam will be white and beautiful. Promthep Cape is a rocky cape jutting out into the sea. There are many palm trees growing at Promthep Cape, but recently many palm trees have broken down due to strong winds. When you stand at Promthep Cape and look out to sea, you will see Koh Kaew Noi and Koh Kaew Yai in front of you. On the right is Nai Harn Beach with many yachts parked and berthed.

A popular activity at Promthep Cape is probably waiting for the sunset. However, you should arrive at least 1 hour before sunset because there will be heavy traffic and it will be difficult to find a parking spot. While waiting to watch the sunset, I recommend buying grilled squid. There are about 3 shops selling it. It is a famous food of Promthep Cape, especially squid eggs.
