1. Fujian - Pingtan Island

In winter, Pingtan Island avoids the summer crowds. With high-speed rail access, the sea and sky blend into a refreshing view.

Beigang Village’s stone houses are peaceful and serene, with natural stone structures that exude the charm of time.

The sea erosion wonder at Xianren Well is extremely rare, where waves surge through huge rock crevices, roaring like thunder.

Shipaiyang is made up of massive granite pillars in various shapes, a typical example of sea erosion landforms. Tannan Bay has fine sand and clear water, perfect for watching the sea and daydreaming.

2. Yunnan - Lijiang

The ancient town is free from the hustle and bustle of peak season, the snow line on the mountains is lower, and visibility is better. Even in the city, you can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain glowing golden in the sunlight.

Staying in Baisha, Shuhe, or Yuhu Village feels like the snow mountains are within reach.

In winter, Glacier Park’s cable car takes you right to the snowy mountain peak. The meadows at Yunshanping are covered with snow, adding atmosphere to this alpine primeval forest. Yak Meadow is a flat mountain field with a panoramic view of the thirteen peaks of Jade Dragon Mountain lined up. The Blue Moon Valley at the foot of the snow mountain has a refreshing blue color.

3. Guangdong - Huizhou

Spend winter by the sea at 20°C, enjoying quiet sunsets at Orange Sea and exploring the historical sites of this famous city.

Hejiang Tower offers panoramic views of Huizhou and the confluence of two rivers. The Lingnan-style brick tower Wenbi Tower, Huizhou West Lake, and Nine-Bend Bridge are worth spending a day visiting.

Xunliao Bay and Shuangyue Bay have long coastlines with many guesthouses open in winter. Walking just 200 meters can reveal a completely different seaside view.

4. Henan - Laojun Mountain

Travel to witness a stunning feast of nature and see the magnificent beauty of the world. Among countless Laojun Mountains nationwide, the one in Luanchuan, Luoyang is the most ethereal.

After snow, Laojun Mountain is draped in a snowy coat, with golden-roofed buildings resembling a celestial palace.

Passing through the Ten-Mile Painted Screen, you can see frosted trees and ice formations on the mountains, making the snowy scenery especially enchanting. Climbing to the golden peak feels like entering a fairyland.

5. Hainan - Lingshui

Quiet beaches, glass-clear waters, and warm climate, close to Sanya but with less than half the crowds.

Qingshui Bay’s beach is fine and delicate. Relaxing on the coconut-lined beach is perfect for families with kids.

Fenjiezou Island offers many water activities. The island’s book house has stunning sea views from its windows. At blue hour, Perfume Bay blends sea and sky into a deep blue. At night, visit the new village night market for fragrant pickled vinegar and sweet herbal jelly.

6. Jilin - Changchun

Northern snow scenes and dense historical buildings make Changchun full of Northeast China’s joy.

The vintage tram on Route 154 is great for photos. Get off at Changying Station or Nanyang Road and visit the mountain and the Changchun Film Studio Museum.

The Puppet Manchurian Palace is luxurious and historic. In winter, Jingyuetan features snowy forests and blue ice, and sunset at Nanhu Park is atmospheric. Don’t miss experiencing a traditional Northeast bathhouse.

7. Inner Mongolia - Chifeng

Just three hours by car from Beijing, with direct high-speed rail access. A great winter ice and snow travel destination where northern snow scenes are everywhere. Meilin Valley Ski Resort has plenty of slopes for all levels, with few people and good snow quality, satisfying all skiing enthusiasts.

Warm Water Lake is covered in white snow with steam rising, and the sunrise halo lights up the snowy plains. The film base has deep snow, wooden boardwalks to the top, and a circle walk to see snow-covered small houses and solitary trees.

Baijia Wopu is a snowy village beyond the Great Wall, full of magnificent snowy scenery and dreamy ice crystals. The water in Xiahetou River doesn’t freeze, with sparkling ice in the river and snowflakes gently resting on the ice surface. The riverbank has mushroom-shaped snow mounds.
