Pingtung Xiaoliuqiu

Xiaoliuqiu, also known as Ryukyu Island, was originally named Lamei Island and referred to as Golden Lion Island by the Dutch. It is an offshore island located southwest of Taiwan Island, under the jurisdiction of Liuqiu Township in Pingtung County. This coral reef limestone island covers an area of 6.802 square kilometers and is situated approximately 15 kilometers southwest of the Donggang area and the mouth of the Gaoping River in Pingtung County. The island is home to numerous limestone caves and is entirely within the scope of the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area.
