Pokhara, famous as a resort in Nepal, has a truly wonderful view of Machhapuchhre from the lakeside. Sarangkot, where you can watch the sunrise, is famous, but it is a slope, so it is difficult for middle-aged and elderly people. Pundikot is a new tourist spot where you can see the famous Himalayan peaks up close with Lake Phair below. It is a short one-hour taxi ride (about 1,500 yen) from the lakeside hotel. It takes almost no walking to reach the observation deck (about 1,500m above sea level). There are many local people, and I did not see any foreign tourists. It is very moving to see Annapurna shining in the light of the sunrise at dawn. By the time we left, the number of visitors increased and it became lively all at once. The hot chai at the tea shop next to the mountain gate was exceptionally delicious.
🕰️Business hours: 24 hours. The area near the parking lot is also suitable for astronomical observation. It is recommended to arrive before sunrise to see the sunrise.
🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: You should be barefoot on the upper level of the temple grounds. The toilet is in the tea shop.
📍Location: Pundikot, Pokhara, Nepal
💰Price per person: Free
💞Recommended reason: Take a taxi from the lakeside and you can see the sunrise with very little walking.
🗓️Itinerary management: It depends on the weather. It's a good idea to check the weather app the night before. If you avoid the rainy season, you should be able to move along pretty much as planned. You can return to your accommodation before 9am, so you have more time for your afternoon itinerary. #AsiaTrip #NepalTrip #Pokhara #Machhapuchhre #Annapurna #FewaLake #Sunrise
