In 933 AD, after the destruction of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa became the capital of Sri Lanka. In the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, not only are there Brahman ruins from the Kolas period, but you can also see the remains of the mythical garden city built by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century.
🎟️Ticket information: $30. If you have a residence permit, you can return to Colombo and get a 50% refund at the Cultural Center.
🕐️Recommended visit duration: The classics are all in the park but are scattered. It is recommended to rent a tutu car, which can take you to all the attractions. We were charged 6k rupees for three people.
