The Zheng Family Gate of this ancient town lived together and shared meals for fifteen generations across the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. At its peak, over 3,000 people ate from the same pot, renowned for their filial piety and righteous family governance. Over centuries, nearly 200 members of the Zheng family served as officials, yet not a single one was corrupt.
The mystery of Emperor Jianwen's disappearance during the Jingnan Rebellion of the early Ming Dynasty also finds its narrative in Zhengzhai Town.
