The Mediterranean's favorite shade of blue

The hidden gem of the Mediterranean, Comino Island, is here! Rent a small boat to unlock the most dreamy Blue Grotto experience in the Mediterranean. Every snap looks like a movie poster, so healing 🌊

🚤 Activity Recommendations
📍 Blue Grotto
This gem-blue water cave is stunning. We booked a small boat tour in advance on getyourguide. It’s best to go out around 10 AM when the light is perfect, and the water reflects a beautiful blue glow. The captain was very professional, explaining the terrain and teaching us about tidal changes. Turns out, going out to sea isn’t just about the weather!

🏝️ Fun Fact
The abandoned hotel complex on the island is incredibly surreal! The decayed walls under the Mediterranean sun create a strange beauty, perfect for zombie movie scenes. It’s said to be abandoned due to funding issues, with only one guard and seagulls keeping company, giving off a lonely vibe.

🌞 Practical Tips
1. Be sure to bring a waterproof phone case! Photos on the boat can easily get splashed
2. Wear non-slip shoes; the wooden planks can be a bit shaky when boarding
3. The best time to photograph the Blue Grotto is from 11 AM to 2 PM
4. There’s almost no shade on the island, so apply plenty of sunscreen

🚤 Transportation Guide
It takes just 1 hour by ferry from Valletta to Comino Island, and boat rentals are available at the dock. We chose a package that included the Blue Grotto and a 2-hour island tour, costing about 30 euros per person, which was very cost-effective~

📸 Outfit Suggestions
White or light blue dresses paired with a straw hat are perfect! They match the sea and sky colors beautifully. Don’t forget sunglasses, or the sunlight will be too harsh~
