This alpine adventure starts in Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomites, where you’ll sip a quick espresso before hitting the Great Dolomites Road.

Your first stop? Lago di Carezza, a lake so stunning it looks photoshopped. The emerald waters perfectly reflect the surrounding peaks, making it the ideal spot for a “Look, I’m in a fairy tale!” photo. Resist the urge to jump in, though—this lake is beauty, not a swimming pool.

Back in the car, you’ll wind up to Passo Pordoi, a mountain pass that feels like driving into the sky. At the top, take a breather (and about 50 photos) while marveling at the jagged peaks stretching endlessly. Bonus points if you spot a marmot posing for your camera.
