Taking the kids to Luoyang! Muzhaling Primitive Secret Realm is so much fun to explore

Spent the weekend with the kids at Muzhaling in Luoyang, unlocking a "parent-child nature classroom"! Forests, waterfalls, little animals—the kids didn’t want to leave～

1️⃣ Why choose Muzhaling? 💫
It’s Henan’s first primitive ecological tourism area and a national AAAA-level scenic spot! Covering a total area of 125 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 98.5%🌳, it’s basically a natural oxygen bar～ Over 2,000 rare plant species and more than 260 higher animals live here. Bringing kids here lets them get up close to nature, which is way more meaningful than visiting an amusement park～

2️⃣ Parent-child friendly tour route 📝
1. Buy a round-trip shuttle bus ticket (50 RMB/person) 🚗 at the entrance, take a 20-minute ride to the first stop at the mountaintop, then walk 20 minutes to Guanmao Peak (photo 5). The path isn’t difficult, kids can climb it on their own～
2. Walk 30 minutes from Guanmao Peak to the second stop, the "Primitive Forest." Walking through the woods, kids will point at unfamiliar plants and ask nonstop—great chance for some science education～
3. From the Primitive Forest exit, take a 10-minute shuttle bus to the third stop, Jiujinggou. The streams and waterfalls here are stunning (photos 1, 2). Bring a change of clothes for the kids—they can play in the water for a long time～
4. When leaving Jiujinggou, the kids chose to take a 30 RMB/person kayak 🚣 down the mountain. Floating along the water is super fun. Walking down is also easy, so choose based on the kids’ preferences～

3️⃣ Tips for the trip ✅
- Plan for 3-4 hours of touring. Avoid peak times during holidays! We went on the afternoon of May 2nd and barely waited in line—no crowds～
- Don’t go to nearby Xitaishan! It’s an artificial attraction with no special features. Muzhaling’s primitive scenery is worth it, especially in summer when it’s cool and perfect for escaping the heat～

4️⃣ Accommodation guide 🏨
Highly recommend the nearby "Song County Muzhaling Secret Realm Homestay"! It’s a well-known local homestay, close to the scenic area, decorated in a natural style, very comfortable for kids, and you can even stargaze at night～
