[Osaka] Sakai City Daisen Park Sakai City Tea House Shinan

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip

Sen no Rikyu was born in 1522 as the eldest son of a wealthy fish merchant in Sakai.

In a corner of the lush Daisen Park adjacent to the Nintoku Emperor's Tomb,

"Shin'an" is a teahouse built with great style in 1929 by Ogi Rodo, a master of sukiya construction in the Meiji period, and was moved from Tokyo's Shiba Park.

The elegant two-story building has about 12 standing seats.

The neighboring "Oubai-an" is associated with Imai Sokyu, one of the three great masters of tea ceremony, who was also born in Sakai.

Both are registered tangible cultural properties of the country.

The garden that connects the two teahouses is free to visit, and there is also the nine-story pagoda of the former Jodo-ji Temple, a nationally designated important cultural property.

I'd like to go again because you can get a cup of matcha with dried sweets for 500 yen✨
