🍃A holiday in Jozankei surrounded by nature and healing

About an hour's drive from Sapporo, we headed to Jozankei Onsen, a hot spring resort surrounded by lush nature. ♨️
Surrounded by mountains, this area offers beautiful scenery throughout the seasons, revealing a different face each time you visit.

Walking through the hot spring town, the murmuring of the river and the rising steam from the hot springs are so soothing, they'll make you want to take a deep breath.

One of Jozankei's charms is spending a relaxing time resting in a footbath.

Continuing along the Toyohira River, we headed to Kappabuchi.
This is said to be the home of the kappa, a creature featured in Jozankei legend, and features a tranquil mountain stream surrounded by greenery.
The small waterfall and clear flowing water are so beautiful, it's as if time has stopped.
The contrast between the white streaks of water and the green is so magical that I couldn't stop taking pictures. 📸
Surrounded by nature, there's something mysteriously calming about the mind.

For lunch, we head to Jozankei's popular cafe, "Rainy Days and Snowy Days."
This small, white-and-blue building is surrounded by trees, offering magnificent views of nature from its large windows.
Their chewy pizza, with its crispy crust, pairs perfectly with the vegetables and prosciutto!
Their rich gelato, made with Biei Town's Jersey milk, fills your mouth with its natural sweetness. 🍦
As the name suggests, they offer special perks on rainy and snowy days, making this a cafe you'll want to visit no matter the weather.

In the afternoon, take a short drive to Lake Sapporo.
This lake, located above Jozankei Dam, offers a tranquil view surrounded by deep forest.
The mountains are reflected in the calm water, and when the wind blows, the ripples sparkle as they reflect the light. ✨
The contrast between the trees, which change color with the seasons, and the blue of the lake is truly beautiful, like a painting.
It was a luxurious time to forget about everyday life and simply enjoy the tranquility.

Nature, hot springs, and delicious food.
Jozankei is the perfect place to take a break from your busy schedule.
Next time, I'd like to visit during the snowy season and enjoy a warm "Rainy Day and Snowy Day" pizza in a world of pure white.❄️
