The Great Buddha Temple of Fukuoka, also known as Nanzoin Temple, is a must-visit destination, especially during the autumn foliage season 🍂. The entire temple is surrounded by trees in a spectrum of colors, from green and yellow to vibrant red, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene 🌈. Every corner you walk into feels like stepping into an ancient Japanese painting 🎨.
The highlight of the temple is the bronze reclining Buddha statue, which stretches over 41 meters long 🙏🏻. During the autumn season, the golden hue of the statue reflects against the red leaves, creating a mesmerizing sight that will leave you gazing in awe 🧡. Wide-angle photos here are simply stunning 📸.
The path leading up to the temple is lined with stone walkways, passing through streams and forests 🍃. The afternoon sunlight filtering through the maple trees adds a warm glow ☀️. The soft sound of bells combined with the rustling leaves creates an incredibly serene atmosphere 🕊️.
For the best photos, visit in mid-November, which is the peak of the autumn foliage in Fukuoka 🌾. Morning visits are recommended for softer lighting, giving your photos a gentle, Japanese aesthetic 🎋.
📍How to get there: From Hakata Station, take the JR train to Kidonanzoin-mae Station, then walk for just 5 minutes 🚶🏻♀️. If you're visiting Fukuoka during the autumn season, don't miss this temple! 🍁 It's both sacred and romantic at the same time ❤️
