Wandering around the ancient Greek ruins - the lower part of Ephesus
When you come to Ephesus, Turkey, the Lower City of this ancient city is the most prosperous area of the city and has many iconic buildings.
🎭 Great Theatre
It could accommodate 25,000 spectators and was the entertainment and political center of Ephesus at that time. It has hosted concerts, theatre performances, and even gladiator matches. In the Bible's "Acts of the Apostles", St. Paul preached Christianity here, but it triggered a riot among local silversmiths, which added more historical color to the theater.
🚻 Ancient Roman Public Latrines
This is a public toilet in ancient Rome, where nobles would chat while using the toilet, showing the open social culture of ancient Rome. The toilet was cleverly designed with underground running water for flushing, which was one of the most advanced drainage systems at the time.
