Korean Drama Lovers’ Delight

#summervacay
If you’re a devoted fan of K-dramas, especially those like Jewel in the Palace, then a visit to Jeju Folk Village is an absolute must. This enchanting place was a filming location for numerous period dramas, and the experience is truly magical as you wander through the village, discovering signs that mark the exact spots where your favorite scenes were shot. The attention to detail is nothing short of impressive, with everything from meticulously recreated traditional kitchens to grand ceremonial halls that transport you back in time. It’s a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in Korean heritage, all while seeing it through the vibrant lens of pop culture.

During my visit, I was captivated by the authenticity and charm of the village. The admission fee is quite reasonable, with youth (middle and high school students) and military personnel paying ₩12,000. However, I would highly recommend bringing a portable fan if you’re visiting during the summer months. The grounds are quite expansive, and while the village is a feast for the eyes, shade can be limited, making it a bit warm under the sun.

Overall, Jeju Folk Village offers a unique and enriching experience for drama enthusiasts and anyone interested in exploring the rich tapestry of Korean culture.
