Yeongnak Church is a hidden historical gem in Jung-gu, Seoul. I discovered it by chance on March 10th after shopping in Myeongdong with a friend. Established in 1945 by Pastor Han Kyung-jik with North Korean refugees, the grandeur of the neo-Gothic style caught my eye. In particular, the afternoon sunlight shining on the stained glass windows of the 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall created a mysterious atmosphere.
Special experience☺️
Sunday service: Two-part system, with moving piano accompaniment and choir
Night lighting: The golden spire contrasts with the cityscape and is a popular SNS photo zone
Visit tips😉
▲ Recommended for a quiet time around 2 PM on weekdays
▲ 7-minute walk from Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station on Subway Line 2
▲ Historical walk linked to nearby Myeongdong Cathedral
A place where you can feel the breath of modern Korean history in a quiet atmosphere, I found it by chance but it left a deep impression.
