What struck me most was the incredible level of artistry in the construction and painting. The traditional Korean temple architecture is stunning, especially the vivid colors of the dancheong adorning the eaves and pillars of the main halls like the Daewoongjeon. The intricate patterns are mesmerising—they tell stories and serve as protectors. I spent ages looking up at the detail on the ceiling of the Bell Pavilion and the Panjeon Hall. The temple also features the unique One Pillar Gate which symbolizes the oneness of all truths. Unlike some temples that are overly ornate, Bongeunsa feels balanced—grand, yet traditional. It truly showcases the peak of Korean artistry and construction techniques. Come prepared to look up and appreciate the meticulous work! #seoulspot
