Qingxi Ancient Town (Qingxi Old Street) is located in Qingcun Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. It formed land in the late Sui and early Tang dynasties, became a village in the early Song dynasty, with a stream running through the village and connecting to the sea. The banks are lush with green reeds, hence the name Qingxi. After the Yongzheng period of the Qing dynasty, Qingxi was renamed Qingcun Port, and in the Republic of China, it was named Qingcun. It has a history of over 1,400 years.
Qingxi Old Street is 1,330 meters long and about 3-4 meters wide. It winds and twists, lying by the river. The adjacent city river is 1,770 meters long, with clear green water after treatment. The layout between the river and the street is dynamic and spatially rich, highlighting the traditional street-river pattern and style of the Jiangnan water town.
