Discover a different kind of beauty in the corners of Shanghai

This time, I came to Qingxi Ancient Town. Compared to other ancient towns, this place is very low-key, but I really like this tranquility, with not much commercial atmosphere. It also hides a very charming One Chi Garden, also known as the Nanyuan Branch.

Nanyuan is a private garden built by Tao Yuquan, a wealthy man from Songjiang Prefecture during the Yuan Dynasty. It was originally called "Yunsuo Garden," but was destroyed due to attacks by Japanese pirates. Now it has been rebuilt on Qingxi Old Street, becoming a cultural landmark of the ancient town.

One Chi Garden preserves the original Hui-style architectural style of Nanyuan, including pavilions, towers, artificial hills, ponds, and winding garden paths. While maintaining the framework of the old residence, it also keeps the standardized design of One Chi Garden. It has both historical charm and comfort, surrounded by greenery.

It is about a 1-hour drive from the city center and is a place where time can slow down.
