The Sanwan Scenic Area is located in Sanwan Township, Yongxin County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, 37 kilometers from the county seat. In 1927, after the nationwide Autumn Harvest Uprising failed, Comrade Mao Zedong gathered the remaining troops in Wenjia City, Hunan Province, and decided to march to Jinggang Mountain in the middle section of the Luoxiao Mountains to establish a rural revolutionary base. From September 29th to October 3rd, Mao Zedong led the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops in the world-famous "Sanwan Reorganization" here.
The Sanwan Reorganization mainly involved three aspects: first, the organization was reorganized, reducing a division to a regiment; second, party organizations at all levels were established in the army, with branches set up at the company level, thus establishing the party's absolute leadership over the army; third, a democratic system was implemented in the army, with soldiers' committees established at the company level and above, breaking the habits of the old army and the old methods of leading troops, and implementing equality between officers and soldiers and economic transparency.
The Sanwan Reorganization marked the beginning of our army's political work, opened the prelude to the establishment of the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base, ignited the spark of armed separatist rule by workers and peasants, and became a milestone in the history of our party's army.
Boasting a subtropical monsoon humid climate, Sanwan Scenic Area boasts lively streams, towering ancient trees, and lush green grass, making it a suitable destination for travel in all seasons.
The Sanwan Scenic Area currently has four national key cultural relics protection sites, including the former residence of Comrade Mao Zedong, the former headquarters of the first regiment of the first division of the first army of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, the former site of the Soldiers' Committee, and the Fengshuping site, as well as the Sanwan National Forest Park, the site of the military and civilian assembly venue, the Red Army Road, the site of the training ground, Hongshuangjing, the Sanwan Reform Memorial Hall, the Sanwan Reform Information Sign, the Sanwan Township Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery, the Sanwan Village Ancient Street, Linxigou, Hongfeng Lake and other attractions.
