Introducing Sanwan Scenic Area

The Sanwan Scenic Area is located in Sanwan Township, Yongxin County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, 37 kilometers from the county seat. In 1927, after the nationwide Autumn Harvest Uprising failed, Comrade Mao Zedong gathered the remaining troops in Wenjia City, Hunan Province, and decided to march to Jinggang Mountain in the middle section of the Luoxiao Mountains to establish a rural revolutionary base. From September 29th to October 3rd, Mao Zedong led the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops in the world-famous "Sanwan Reorganization" here.

The Sanwan Reorganization mainly involved three aspects: first, the organization was reorganized, reducing a division to a regiment; second, party organizations at all levels were established in the army, with branches set up at the company level, thus establishing the party's absolute leadership over the army; third, a democratic system was implemented in the army, with soldiers' committees established at the company level and above, breaking the habits of the old army and the old methods of leading troops, and implementing equality between officers and soldiers and economic transparency.

The Sanwan Reorganization marked the beginning of our army's political work, opened the prelude to the establishment of the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base, ignited the spark of armed separatist rule by workers and peasants, and became a milestone in the history of our party's army.
