Day 1 in Shanghai — Fun from the very first step!

✨ Day 1 in Shanghai — Fun from the very first step!

On the first morning in Shanghai, before we even fully woke up, we tried the Maglev train, which zoomed at top speed from the airport into the city in no time! Then we took a "didi" (China’s version of Grab) right to the hotel entrance without having to carry our luggage far. Super convenient!

🏛️ First stop: Shanghai Natural History Museum
The entrance fee is only about 150 baht, but it’s totally worth it! Inside is a world of living things, from tiny insects to giant dinosaur skeletons. It’s a fun walk filled with knowledge, perfect for photography lovers, families, or anyone who likes something unique like us.
There’s also a small flower garden outside the museum for more photo opportunities without stopping 📸

🌸 Next spot: Yuyuan Garden
This place is a paradise for chill and food lovers! An ancient site in the city full of classic Chinese photo spots and surrounded by delicious food like xiaolongbao, bubble tea, local snacks, and lots of cute souvenirs. We enjoyed walking around so much we lost track of time.

☔️ A little unfortunate... it drizzled a bit on the day we went, giving a slightly chilly vibe. We wore raincoats and kept walking without hesitation because the views were truly amazing!

🏨 Ended the day super happy, returning to the hotel feeling light and fulfilled.

📌 Small tips:

Didi here is very convenient, just use the Didi app.

Bring an umbrella or raincoat just in case Shanghai’s weather surprises you.

Yuyuan Garden gets crowded in the evening, so it’s recommended to go before 2 PM for beautiful photos without crowds.
