Review of New York Bagelous Museum – Xintiandi Branch
(Most loved menu item: Strawberry Cheesecake Bagel)

For those who love sweets + bagels, I must say the Xintiandi branch of this shop is a must-visit destination. The store has a minimal, clean white look that immediately catches your eye as you walk by. The scent of freshly baked bagels wafts out softly, inviting you in without you even realizing it.

There aren’t many seats, but the atmosphere is nice and comfortable, perfect for those who want to find a quiet café to chill in. Especially in the afternoon when sunlight streams through the glass and hits the wooden tables, the mood is just perfect.

They offer many types of bagels, both savory and sweet, but if I had to pick “the one that wins my heart every time,” it has to be the Strawberry Cheesecake Bagel. The bagel dough is perfectly chewy, with a homemade flour aroma that isn’t hard or dry like some other places. The filling is even better. It looks simple, but the taste is divine. The tartness of fresh strawberries meets the creamy cheesecake flavor that melts in your mouth, perfectly balanced without being overly sweet or cloying. It’s so delicious you have to stop and think before taking another bite immediately.

Other menus worth trying include the Smoked Salmon Bagel or the Classic New York Bagel loaded with cheese, but in the end, my heart always goes back to the strawberry cheesecake.

The staff speak English, there is an English menu available, and you can pay with WeChat/Alipay. For those visiting Xintiandi who want to stop by for an afternoon pick-me-up, this place is the answer. It’s a perfect blend of American-style bagels with Shanghai’s refined touch.
