🟠Schedule
10:15 AM - Watching the Monitor at the Digital Museum of the Shanghai Museum
1:00 PM - Peking Hot Pot Lunch at Nanmen Biroku No. 2
- Viewing the "China Art Palace" (中华艺术宮), the China Pavilion during the Shanghai World Expo, and its main exhibit, the "Qingming Shanghe Map"
- Learning the history of past World Expos at the World Expo Museum (World Expo Museum Station) (free)
- Strolling around Xintiandi and cosmetics patrol at Harmay
- 7:00 PM - Dinner at a North Korean restaurant, 7:30 PM - Dancing

🟠Shanghai Museum: East Building
We visited the East Building of the Shanghai Museum, showcasing Chinese cultural history.
It's in Pudong, so it's a little far from the city center, but it's well worth a visit. Admission is free, no reservations necessary, but a passport is required.

I made a reservation in advance via WeChat to view the Digital Gallery.
Based on ancient Chinese picture scrolls, the 180°C screen gives a glimpse of what things were like back then.
No age limit, free, reservations required (Digital Gallery).

There was also an interactive area for ages 6-18, so if you have elementary school-aged children, it might be fun to check that out too.

We enjoyed ourselves for a full two hours.
With four floors in total, there's plenty to see.

🟠South Gate Brushed Meat
A very popular Beijing hot pot restaurant.
Enjoy tender lamb shabu-shabu style.
The Beijing hot pot style is to dip it in peanut sauce.
It's delicious no matter how many times you eat it.

We ate until we were stuffed, and it cost about 500 NTD for four adults.
I highly recommend it as it's very satisfying.

By the way, I made a reservation at the second restaurant, right next to the Zhonghua Art Museum.
It was spacious and nice.
Apparently, only the third store is small and doesn't accept reservations.

🟠 Zhonghua Art Museum
We visited the Zhonghua Art Museum, the China Pavilion during the Shanghai World Expo.
We viewed the main exhibit, the "Qingming Shanghe Tu," which was a highlight of the time.

The building features a distinctive red color, and you ascend a long escalator.
Please note that strollers are only permitted in the elevator.

Drinks are required to be left at the entrance, but they exited in a different location, making retrieval a challenge.
Drinks are available for purchase inside the museum, so it might be best not to bring them.
The air conditioning in the museum wasn't working very well, so it was quite hot.

Admission is free, but tickets for the Qingming Shanghe Tu are available at the entrance. Adults pay 20 NTD per person.
This is the main attraction, so I definitely recommend seeing it.
It's on the 12th floor.
I'm still amazed and impressed, but I'm amazed that this level of quality was already there in 2010, during the World Expo!

🟠 World Expo Museum
※Entry closed until 5 PM (tears)

🟠 Xintiandi
I headed to Xintiandi, a fashionable youth district.
I browsed discount cosmetics at harmay,
took photos with the quirky exhibits at gentle monster,
and even visited the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

🟠 North Korean Restaurant
I hesitated for a bit, but decided to try a North Korean restaurant, something you can't experience in Japan.
I made a reservation in advance.
It was packed on weekend nights, so I recommend making a reservation.

The show starts at 7:30 PM and lasts about 30 minutes.
Since many people leave after the show, I recommend starting to eat around 6 PM and then watching the show.
Photography was prohibited during the show only.
The show had a strong North Korean feel, and I got to hear the kind of dancing and singing you see on TV.

The food was just average, tasty Korean food. It had a milder flavor.
The ginseng chicken soup, buchimgae, and kimchi were all delicious.
They also serve North Korean beer.

We ate a variety of dishes and it cost just over 500 NTD for four adults.
