Standing tall on Puxi Road in Xuhui District, the St. Ignatius Cathedral of Xujiahui is renowned for its red brick facade and twin spires, earning it the title of "The Largest Cathedral in the Far East." ⛪️
Built in 1905, the cathedral features a French Gothic Revival style. Its red brick structure is complemented by granite, with intricate carvings that exude grandeur and solemnity.
Upon entering the cathedral, the most breathtaking sight is the massive rose window. Sunlight streams through the stained glass, casting colorful patterns that dance dreamily across the walls and pews. ☁️
The front plaza is surrounded by lush greenery, adorned with fountains and wooden benches, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere. ⛲️
Here, the magnificence of architecture intertwines with the softness of light and shadow, where faith and art resonate together, making it one of Shanghai's most captivating landmarks. ❤️
