Location: Wangxian Township, Guangxin District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, part of the Lingshan Mountain Range, covering a planned area of 6.1 square kilometers.
Historical Transformation:
Originally an abandoned granite mining area, ecological damage caused by over-mining led to a government-led restoration project in 2007, involving waste removal, pit refilling, and reforestation.
In 2011, a cultural tourism company was introduced, starting with canyon rafting and gradually developing it into a comprehensive destination. Construction began in 2017, officially opening in 2020. It was rated as a National 4A-level scenic area in 2019.
Cultural Origins:
Named after Eastern Han scholar Hu Zhao, who lived here in seclusion. His son built a "Gazing Platform" to watch over his father, and locals later revered Hu Zhao as an immortal.
🌟 **Highlights**
**Cliffside Fairyland Landscape**
Gan-style rammed earth buildings dot the 100-meter cliffs—yellow walls, black tiles, and stone steps. At night, the lights create a "heavenly palace" effect, praised by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Iconic spots: White Crane Cliff homestays, Moon-Embracing Bridge, Hundred Boats Bridge, Crane Tower. The Z-shaped plank bridge (Leimu Bridge) is a viral photo spot.
**Ecology & Culture Fusion**
Natural features: Waterfalls (Three-Pot Potholes, Three-Tier Pools), canyon streams, combined with traditional village aesthetics of northeastern Jiangxi.
Cultural experiences: Oil-paper umbrella crafting, Nuo dance performances, heritage workshops (plant dyeing, woodworking).
**Immersive Activities**
- Han Dynasty wedding show: Daily 15:30–16:00 at Hu Clan Ancestral Hall.
- Bonfire party: Interactive night carnival at 20:00 in the square.
- Rafting adventure: Canyon rafting (¥238 weekdays/¥258 weekends, 60-minute thrill).
