A place I want to visit every year

The renowned Abuji Lake is described online as the pure land of Shangri-La, where you can traverse forests, lakes, grasslands, and pastures, with distant views of Meili Snow Mountain and up-close glimpses of Tianbao Snow Mountain.

【Meili Snow Mountain Photography Spots】
1. 【Feilai Temple Viewing Platform】 The most famous spot comes first. Personally, I find it just okay. Although there are white stupas echoing the scenery, it's hard to frame Meili Snow Mountain and the stupas together at close range. To get both in the frame, you'd need to climb the small hill behind the hotel cluster, resulting in a composition where both the stupa and Meili appear small.
2. 【Wunongding Viewing Platform】 The location chosen by the renowned Jishan Hotel is definitely excellent. Here, you have close-ups (prayer flags, self-driving cars), mid-range shots (villages under the snow-capped mountains... couldn't find the name), and distant views of Meili. I particularly love the view of the thirteen peaks from Wunongding.
3. 【The Lonely Tree】 Online, it's called a lonely tree, but in reality, it's quite busy now: daily batches of tourists come to lean against it or stand beneath it for photos with Meili. Not far away, there’s even a mobile coffee shop keeping it company all day. The angle is similar to the Wunongding Viewing Platform, but with slightly fewer people.
4. 【Feilai Temple No. 3 Viewing Platform】 Personally, I think this spot isn’t very cost-effective. It’s about a 40-minute round trip from Feilai Temple Viewing Platform, and the scenery along the way is more stunning than the platform itself. Consider it if you have ample time.
5. 【Near Kawagarbo Peak Viewing Platform】 This is a less crowded spot and one I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately, the weather was foggy that afternoon, leaving only a hazy outline of Meili, so I gave up after reaching the entrance. Definitely go in the morning—afternoons are backlit.
6. 【Xueda Lake】 A highly coveted photography spot, but in winter, the lake is frozen, making it less worthwhile. Summer visitors might consider it, but note that the round trip from Feilai Temple Viewing Platform takes about 4 hours, so staying overnight is an option. If you can’t find Xueda Lake on the map, try searching for 【Shuoda】 or 【Meili Xueda Lake Homestay】!
