It is not normal for a river to create the gorge between two magnanimous mountains in the 'U' shape. Such is the force of Jinsha river (金沙湖)formed by the melting of snow from the Jade dragon snow mountain. As per the ancient mythology, it is believed that the tiger 🐅🐯 wanted to cross the river. And a normal tiger wouldn't be able to pull this off, but this one jumped from the very rock in the second picture to cross the river. And so, the gorge is named after this ferocious tiger. One side of the gorge is the 玉龙雪山 and other side is the Shangri-la. With more rain 🌧️ the view will be stupendous in August/September. #tigerleapinggorge #yunnan
