My first helicopter experience in Shenzhen + a hidden gem in Spain
This trip to Shenzhen, choosing the InterContinental Shenzhen OCT Hotel as my accommodation, unexpectedly unlocked the double joy of a helicopter experience and a relaxing vacation ✨ I found a rare slow pace of life in the city 🌿.
The most unforgettable experience was my first helicopter ride! 🚁 A 15-minute round trip between Futian and Nanshan. I was quite nervous when we first took off 😆 But when I saw the city skyline below and the crisscrossing streets slowly unfolding, I was instantly awestruck 😯 The hustle and bustle of the ground seemed to be shut out, leaving only the vastness and tranquility of the sky ☁️ Even just standing casually by the window, without needing to find a specific angle, the photos turned out great 📸 I posted them on WeChat Moments and many friends asked where it was, full of curiosity~ Stepping into the hotel lobby, a rich Spanish ambiance immediately greeted me 😍 Warm lighting, red decorations, and a bull figurine complemented each other 🐂, along with scattered artworks 🖼️, instantly creating a sense of time travel. The most eye-catching piece was the Pegasus piano 🎹 designed by a Ferrari designer; only ten such pianos exist worldwide.
Inside the hotel The 10,000㎡ Caribbean-style garden was such a delightful surprise! 🌴 The 2,000㎡ outdoor swimming pool had incredibly clear water 💦 It was surrounded by coconut trees, and the sand on the beach was so fine and soft 🏖️ It felt wonderful to walk barefoot on. Find a lounge chair, relax in the sun ☀️ and feel the breeze; time seemed to slow down ⏳ The vintage pirate ship in the middle of the pool was really fun 🚢 The kids had a blast playing around it 🥳 It's also a great spot for taking pictures with friends.
The deluxe king room I stayed in was spacious and elegant 🛋️ Thoughtful details abounded in the room, including water-based plants 💐 and a generous selection of welcome fruits. The private bathtub in the bathroom was incredibly soothing 🛁 The hotel even thoughtfully provided a romantic bubble bath basket 🧴. As the sun set, I soaked in the warm water, gazing at the beautiful garden view outside the window, washing away all my fatigue. Later, I snuggled on the sofa 🛋️, turned on the TV 📺, and opened my personal VOD viewing basket 🎬, enjoying snacks while watching a show – it was so relaxing I didn't want the day to end! The location is also very convenient; it's just a few minutes' walk from Exit C of the Overseas Chinese Town subway station 🚇. Attractions like Splendid China and Window of the World are nearby 🗺️, making it easy to visit them all. If you're in Shenzhen looking for a relaxing, less crowded place, this is definitely a great choice 👍.
