The longest wooden pedestrian bridge in the world!

Horai Bridge over the Oi River in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture!

A wooden bridge with a total length of 897.4 meters and a width of 2.4 meters.
It is certified by Guinness as the "longest wooden footbridge in the world"!

The bridge is popular as a lucky bridge because the long tree means "longevity" and the total length of 897.4 meters (yaku-nashi = no misfortune) is a play on words🩵

On a clear day, you can get a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji🗻

The day I visited, it was windy and a little scary lol
But the view from the bridge was good, and the view from the hill beyond the bridge was also wonderful🥰

There is also a teahouse at the foot of the bridge, where you can enjoy delicious Shizuoka tea, making it a great spot!

Location: Shimada City Minami 2-chome

Admission Fee: Adults (junior high school students and above) 100 yen
Children (elementary school students) 10 yen
