[Shizuoka] Shimoda, the tranquil town where Perry arrived

Sightseeing on foot from Shimoda Station!!

Perry Road is short, but it's lovely and full of charm.

There are several cafes and general stores along the street.

It's a good idea to just pop into any place that catches your eye.

The beach isn't very wide, but there's a cafe nearby where you can wear your swimsuit.

My first visit to Shimoda was a quiet, tranquil place that made me want to live there (I can understand why people move to Shimoda for the sea).

I recommend a pasta restaurant called Dodanko!

The wasabi pasta and fig cake were delicious! 😋
