[Shizuoka] Old-style cafe in Shimoda, Izu! Delicious pound cake!

Izu Shimoda in Shizuoka Prefecture. Known as a town that opened its doors to the world since the Edo period, it is a charming town with many old-fashioned buildings remaining. In particular, Perry Road is lined with many old houses, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time to a different place.

On Perry Road, I visited an old-fashioned cafe called Kusagabo. This cafe is only open on weekends and holidays. The bright light from outside poured into the large windows on the first floor, creating an open and airy atmosphere.

This time, I ordered a matcha float and pound cake. The fluffy pound cake and the cool, refreshing matcha float go perfectly together. It's a menu you'll want to try in the upcoming hot season.

There are other cute cafes and miscellaneous goods stores on Perry Road, so enjoy a leisurely retro trip to Shimoda!
