[Yamaguchi] Akama Shrine: An exterior resembling Dragon Palace

Akama Shrine is a beautiful shrine in Shimonoseki City that enshrines Emperor Antoku. When you step into the shrine grounds, the bright vermilion shrine building catches your eye, and seasonal flowers bloom around it, welcoming visitors. Particularly impressive was the "Emperor Antoku's Tomb" located within the shrine grounds. In a quiet environment, I was able to worship slowly while feeling the depth of history. I was also told that I could get a goshuin, which I received as a souvenir. There are souvenir shops on the approach to the shrine, and it was a fun time to stroll around looking at local specialties and crafts. Akama Shrine, where history and nature coexist in harmony, is a spot you should definitely stop by when visiting Shimonoseki.
