[Shizuoka Prefecture/Kunozan Toshogu Shrine] A shrine associated with Ieyasu where you can enjoy a spectacular view

Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, where Tokugawa Ieyasu was once buried

You can get to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine by ropeway from Nihon-daira, or by walking up the 1,159 steps from the stone torii gate.

The ropeway only takes about 100 steps!

The 1,159 steps are said to be a pun on the Japanese word for "ichiichi gokurosan" (every single effort)!

The view of Suruga Bay from the top of the stone steps is amazing♪

The shrine building is also gorgeous!

Further in is the shrine mausoleum, where Ieyasu's remains were buried.

This is a place where you can feel the life of Ieyasu!
