[Cambodia] Top 5 ruins around Angkor Wat

Here are five interesting places I visited along with Angkor Wat on my trip to Cambodia.

① Angkor Wat
The most popular site, as you may know! It is a very popular site surrounded by a moat.

There were many tourists in front of the famous site.

② Bayon Ruins
A temple famous for the carvings of smiling faces and coats of arms carved into the walls.
There are supposedly 200 faces, but I didn't feel like counting them😅

③ Baphuon
A temple famous for the straight road called the "sky approach" that leads to the ruins.
The view from the top is amazing.

④ Takeu
A ruin with probably the steepest staircase of all the ruins around Angkor Wat.
The view from the top of the ruins is exciting, but it is quite dangerous as there are no safety fences or other measures.
It may be best to stay away if you have children with playful children...

⑤ Ta Prohm
A ruin that stands out in the area around Angkor Wat and blends in with nature.
The sight of the trees engulfing the ruins is a spectacular highlight!

🔶Each ruin is over 1km square, so it is difficult to travel between ruins on foot.
If you are not on a tour, we recommend using a taxi or tuk-tuk.
Angkor Wat is just under 10km away, but we rented a bicycle in Siem Reap.
It was cheap, we had the freedom to do it, and it was fun♪

☆Bonus☆
It is difficult to visit the ruins on the same day as Angkor Wat because it is far away, but we had a lot of fun visiting the ruins called "Beng Mealea".
