Dinner at Lawryâs felt like a proper night outâelegant, unhurried, and all about the classics. The restaurant sits right in the middle of Orchard, but once youâre inside, everything slows down. Big windows, plush leather booths, white tablecloths, and that quiet hum of silverware and soft jazzâitâs got that timeless, old-world steakhouse charm that never goes out of style.
We came for the prime rib, and it didnât disappoint. The beef was carved tableside from the signature silver cart (which honestly feels like a mini show of its own), and served exactly how we orderedâmedium rare, with a warm pink center and melt-in-the-mouth tenderness. The accompanying mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and spinning bowl salad made the whole thing feel nostalgic in the best way.
Thereâs something really satisfying about a place that doesnât mess with the formulaâthey know what theyâre good at, and they deliver. The creamed corn and au jus added just the right touch of sweetness and richness to the plate.
Service was top-notchâattentive without being stiff. The staff took their time explaining the cuts, wine pairings, and even offered to pace the meal slower so we could enjoy the view (and digest in peace). It didnât feel rushed, and every course came out with care.
The crowd was a mix of date nights, business dinners, and families celebrating something special. Itâs definitely a place you dress up a little forâand it makes the meal feel that much more memorable.
Lawryâs isnât the trendiest place in town, but thatâs the point. Itâs timeless, elegant, and when youâre in the mood for a perfect prime rib, done the right way, thereâs no better spot in Singapore.
