It was probably eight years ago 😆 when I last visited Sun Moon Lake. The crowds were still as big as ever! So many people! Set sail from Shuishe Pier, then head to Xuanguang Temple for Jinpen Grandma's Tea Eggs, and then to the Xiangshan Visitor Center to admire the beautiful architecture.
1. Shuishe Pier → Boat Cruise
·The pier itself is beautiful, with the blue sky and white clouds reflecting off the lake and mountains, making it a perfect photo op. #SunMoonLakeCruise#ShuishePier. The boat 🛥️ was clean, with outdoor seating for about 30 people, and the indoor sofas were also very comfortable. (The life jackets 🦺 were also clean.)
2. Xuanguang Temple & Grandma's Mushroom Tea Eggs
Cultural Landmark: #Xuanguang Temple, a renowned Buddhist shrine that houses the relics of Master Xuanzang, is a must-see. The large stone in front of the temple, inscribed with "Sun Moon Lake" and "Xuanguang Temple," is a must-take photo spot. (You'll need to queue up for photos)
Must-try: #GoldenPenGrandma'sMushroomTeaEggs are the soul of this place! 😆! There's a saying that one tea egg can nourish the entire Sun Moon Lake. 🤣 They're made with Sun Moon Lake's Assam black tea, pure water, mushrooms, and a special blend of spices. At just NT$15 each, they're not expensive; I bought 20 to take back to Taipei. 😁 (They can be refrigerated for 5 days) #GrandmaTeaEggs #Must-eatSunMoonLake
3. Xiangshan Visitor Center
· Architectural Beauty: Constructed of strikingly modern exposed concrete, the building embraces the shores of Sun Moon Lake like two arms, its sleek lines blending seamlessly with the natural landscape.
· Magnificent Views: From the center's infinity-edge observation deck, the view of Sun Moon Lake is like a painting, stunning in any photo. #XiangshanVisitorCenter #ExposedConcreteArchitecture #InstagramMsPhotoSpot #SunMoonLakeAttractions. Since I had plenty of time, I decided to visit the nearby Forever United Bridge for some photos. While the bridge itself isn't particularly impressive, the scenery along the way is quite nice. It's also great to walk around and take photos of the lake from different angles!
