Tainan Grand Mazu Temple is an old temple in the city center. It was built around 1684. It was originally the palace of Prince Zhu Shugui of the Southern Ming Dynasty, which was later converted into a temple. In Chinese belief, Mazu is the goddess of the sea, which Taiwanese people highly respect. The temple is not far from Chikan Tower. The temple faces the road on 3 sides. Cross the road from Chikan Tower and you will arrive. The temple is quiet and has a fairly large area. The temple has been renovated many times and in 1985 it was registered as a protected ancient monument.
I recommend that if you come to Tainan, stop by and pay your respects at least once.
