The Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is located in Taipei's Xinyi District, adjacent to the Taipei Arena. Founded in 1937, it formerly housed the Songshan Tobacco Factory of the Taiwan Governor-General's Monopoly Bureau. Architecturally inspired by early Japanese modernism, the predominantly gray buildings exude an industrial aesthetic yet retain a simple, elegant aesthetic, retaining a touch of historical charm. Even after the factory ceased operations, it was preserved and designated a municipal historic monument before being revitalized as a cultural and creative park.
This area integrates art, creative industries, and design, attracting many Taiwanese creative brands. The large factory and warehouse complex host frequent cultural and creative markets, showcasing a wide variety of creative products, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The park also hosts a variety of themed cultural exhibitions, performances, and other events. The park is also home to numerous specialty cafes and restaurants, making it a popular destination for art lovers and a great place to learn about Taiwan's cultural and creative industries. It's also a popular tourist attraction in Taipei.
